Megan & Piper visit Minnesota

Megan and Piper surprised us all and flew in for a visit! Mom had rotator cuff surgery on April 17th, so she's in no shape to move everything back to the basement now that the flood threat has passed. She's been wanting the downstairs family room painted, so we figured we'd best do it now before moving everything back downstairs. Megan and I painted the walls 2 lovely shades of green while Grandma entertained Piper.
Adam and Piper get serious.
Their weeklong visit went by so fast,
but we were so happy to see them.
Megan was a great help to have around
and she got to see the flood mess up close.
It was hard to say goodbye again,
but hopefully we'll see Piper again before Christmas!

Adam's 1st Circus!

The annual Shrine Circus came to town once again and
we went along with Brooke, Jeremy and their kids.
Here are the infamous three rings.

There were a lot of acts missing due to the flood, but at least we got to see the elephants.I was shocked when Adam said he'd never been to a circus before! I wanted to immediately buy him a lightup sword, cotton candy and an elephant ride. He was content however to help Kaitlyn enjoy a snowcone . . . and spoil her with a blowup Shrek that was nearly as big as she is. Such good circus buddies!

Just When We Thought It Was Over!

Well, we survived the first Red River crest, but another crest is coming. The Fargo Forum is reporting that sandbagging efforts will resume on Thursday as Fargo-Moorhead gears up for a second Red River crest, one which could top the record 40.82-foot level reached March 28. The cities hope to produce an additional 1 million sandbags to be able to raise primary sandbag dikes to 44 feet if necessary, officials said this morning. The National Weather Service released its probabilistic forecast last week, stating there is a 75 percent chance the Red could reach or top 41 feet. I'll keep you posted how Round 2 of the flood fight goes. Here is a link to some cool pics!
