Farm Love

We've been having a lot of good times at the family farm this year.
Walt enjoyed four-wheeler rides with Grandpa -
Rube -
 loved hanging with Auntie -
And Walt loved the tractors!
In fact, a tractor was my inspiration for Walt's birthday cake.
This is how the cake went down.
Here it is naked -
and frosted -
 Now on to the decorating.
This was my inspiration -
So I used a trick you've seen before to make the wheels -
and once they were both in place -
I did a little free-hand drawing to sketch in the rest of the tractor.
Next, I grabbed some glittery red gel -
 and filled the tractor in.
Then I slapped on all of the detail work -
 and viola!
 Walter's 2nd birthday cake -
Party pics coming soon.

A Wild Night - For a 2 Year Old

We had a  birthday party for Walter over the weekend.
I'll show you how that went down later.
This is how we spent his actual birthday last Thursday.

The night started out at Chuck E. Cheese.
Walter had never been there before,
but the giant mouse on the building
was enough to get him excited.
As he walked in and surveyed the scene,
a big smile spread across his face.
   Between the food -
and the rides -
 he had a great time!
After Chuck E. Cheese, it was time to head to the Fargodome
with his cousin Kaitlyn to see this show:

It was dark in there, so I only  have a couple
of pictures Adam took with his cell phone.
The kids got popcorn, cotton candy, and balloons.
I wish I had pictures of them dancing like crazy.
One of my favorite lines of the night was at intermission
when Kaitlyn turned to Adam and said -
"Oh I hope this never ends!"
But all good things do have to come to an end
and when we finally got Walt home he looked like this -
I think he had a great 2nd birthday.
