2010

Well, we left Walter with Grandpa & Grandma
for his first overnight away from us and went out for New Year's.
We celebrated at my friend Lindsey's house
with a bunch of my high school friends.
I did make a few resolutions,
but tonight was just about having fun!

Santa's Village

Tonight we took Walter out to
Santa's Village at Rheult Farm in Fargo.

We walked around to all of the different buildings to see what Santa had in store. We dropped off some canned goods for a local food shelter with some Elves in this little hut. We also watched a train and the kids wrote letters to Santa.

Here is Santa's best helper. In another building, Lexi & Kaitlyn made pipe cleaner candy canes... while the men warmed up over hunting stories and hot chocolate.

Later Walter met the big man himself!

We also got a chance to see some of Santa's reindeer.
Look at this great looking bunch!
This may be the sweetest Christmas photo yet.

A Virtual Tour of Walt's Room

When you walk in the door, to the left you'll find his
dresser that we change him on and a bookshelf.

Here is a closer look at the top shelf:

a cute star lamp that spins,
his little dog bank from Grandma Scott,
a picture of Walt and Daddy,
and his name in blocks.
Going around the room to the right you'll see his
built-in window seat and the chair
I rock him to sleep in every night.
On the window seat sits a tank his Great Grandpa Paul made for him,
a picture of him and I when he was only 8 days old,
and this adorable owl pillow I bought in Bemidji.
Next on the far wall is his crib and swing. On the last wall is his closet. Here's the Walt in his crib.
He LOVES his mobile!
If the virtual tour wasn't enough for you,
come by any time to see Walter & his room in person :)

2 Month Checkup

Adam took Walter to meet his pediatrician, Dr. Blehm today for his 2 month checkup. He weighed 13 lbs & 2 oz and is now 24 inches long. For all you moms out there that keep track of percentiles - he's in the 75% for both height and weight and his little noggin was only in the 48 percentile. He got 3 shots and 1 oral immunization.

Dr. Blehm said he's doing great and that we could start giving him rice cereal in his bottles because he's always so darn hungry! The first night we gave him the rice cereal, he slept through the night. Turns out that was a fluke because he hasn't done it again since, but he's only getting up about one time a night now and the cereal really does help him stay full longer.

He's already getting big and growing fast!

Walter in LP

We took Walter on his first roadtrip to Long Prairie this weekend.
He was pretty pumped to hang with Grandpa Woody
& Grandma Marilyn.
Us ladies hit up the annual craft fair and Marilyn, Melissa, Michelle and I also found time to do some Christmas baking at Grandma Hillman's.
Walter meet Knob - your youngest auntie! He also got to meet his cousins from Mankato - Emma & Ally. He can't wait for our next LP trip!

Firsts

I'm trying to get back into the swing of blogging,
so I thought I'd do a post on some of Walter's "Firsts."
Here's Walter sleeping in his first bed - a cute little bassinet.

He's moved up to his big boy crib now :)
Nursery pictures are coming soon - I promise!
First bath in the sink with help from Kaitlyn & Auntie Brooke.

First hang out with a buddy - Jack Elsberry.
First Halloween. First walk around the neighborhood with Grandma Tami, Dad & Mom.
And first embarrassing incident of wearing
the same outfit as Grandma Becky!
Let's hope there isn't a second :)

The Many Faces of Miss Piper

Megan, Josh & Piper were our first guests in the new house.
They came for a week and were so much help during the move.
We love seeing that little girl and she is such a ham for the camera!

Me & the Pipe Kaitlyn & Piper Piper & WalterMegan showed me how to use the Moby wrap I got from Adam.

Walter was super content in that thing!

Piper learned how to crawl up the stairs while at our house.
I can't wait to see her new faces and tricks at Christmas!
