Operation Big Boy Bed - Night One

We weren't expecting much the first night,
I mean let's be honest.
But Walt was pretty excited when we had him hop in his new bed
for the first time the other night.
So excited in fact,
he soon was literally hopping in bed.
And there was no stopping him.
Jumping, bouncing,
and even dancing.
Here we were worried about him getting up
and coming out of his room all night,
but we couldn't even get him to quit the party and lay down.
We found him doing this after lights out.
So he ended up back in here after about 15 minutes.
He wasn't too happy about it.
Such was the end of Night One.

Walt's Big Boy Bed

In anticipation of baby #2,
Walter got a toddler bed from Grandpa and Grandpma.
These are pictures of Dad and Walter putting the
bed together for fun back in November,
even though Walt was still sleeping in his crib.
The finished product has just been hanging out
in the spare bedroom downstairs,
waiting for the day we were ready to tackle
the task of moving Walter from the crib.
I recently decided that it was time to give it a go.
So we bought a mattress for the toddler bed
and moved it upstairs to Walter's room.
We just stuck it next to his crib for now,
so if the whole thing is disastrous we can
just throw him back in his crib.
I'll keep you posted on how this works out.

Growing Girl

Guess who turned 2 months old when we weren't looking?
Yep, my little Ruby is growing like a weed!
At her 2 month appointment
she weighed 12.6 lbs (89%)
was 23 inches long (75%) and
had a head circumference of 15.3 inches (49%).
And did you see that wild hair??
It curls and sticks straight up right out of the bath.
I love it.
She's a real go-getter too,
always flailing her arms and kicking her legs like crazy.
Awhile back, we had a photo shoot with
Mandey from mandeymarie photography at our house.
I never got a chance to post the pictures,
so I'm doing it now.
These were taken when Ruby was about 2 weeks old.
Aren't they just precious?
Of course we had to get some flag shots
to go alongside Walter's.

Mandey has great prices and
you get a disc with all of your photos on it.
Didn't she do a great job?
I can't wait to print a bazillion copies
and frame these all over the house!

Excuses, Excuses

It's crazy times for me right now
and the blog is suffering because of it.
My sister from California is here
and her family of four is staying with us.
Walter has been sick so we've dealt with
some crabbiness, lots of nebulizer treatments,
and a trip to the walk-in clinic.
The kids start a new daycare this week
so that is always a little rough (on me at least!).

Additionally, my laptop is out of commission,
which makes dealing with the million photos I take
and getting posts up all the more difficult.

Basically, I'm saying,
I know I'm a bad blogger right now,
but hang in there.
I've got tons of stuff to show you.
I just need a little more time to get life in order.

And it's been forever since I've done a giveaway
so I'm planning one for each of the summer months.
If I have any readers left in a week or two
when I get back to more regular blogging,
 you'll have a great chance
at winning some really cool prizes!

At the Park

Now that the weather is finally nice,
we took Walter over to the park in our neighborhood.
He hopped into the swing,
but was ready to move on after a few pushes.
Next, Walt and Dad hit up these slides -
which were fun and all
but there was still one big slide to try - the twisty slide!
It was pretty high up, but Walt and I made the climb.
He got scared once we started going,
but calmed down a bit as we twisted our way down.
I think his favorite time at the park
was when he was just standing around
enjoying his juice and a big cookie from a friend.
Walter says thanks for the cookie, Kelsee!
