Piper is Born

On November 22, 2008, my oldest sister Megan and her husband Josh,
welcomed their first baby, Piper, into the world.
She weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. and is 19 inches long. Megan and Josh live in San Diego, so it's hard to not be able to visit and see Piper, but they are coming home for Christmas, so we'll have to be patient until then. Piper joins our family as our 7th niece!
CONGRATULATIONS Megan and Josh! We can't wait to meet Piper!

Lexi and Kaitlyn's Birthday Party

Where does the time go?
On November 3, 2008, Lexi turned nine
and on November 9, 2008, Kaitlyn turned 2!
Poor Lexi was sick on her birthday,
so we had a combined celebration on Sunday.
Brooke and Lexi and I made the cakes.
Lexi had cupcakes and Kaitlyn has a thing for Shrek right now,
so I put him on her cake.

Here is Lexi making her wish and blowing out her candles!

And here is Kaitlyn, enjoying her cake!

And finally, here are the girls opening their presents.

We got Lex some new shoes and I knit her this scarf.
It was a fun party!
HAPPY BIRHTDAY LEXI and KAITLYN!
We love you!

Out for a Stroll

Today I got to babysit Kaitlyn.
The weather was so lovely that we decided
to take a walk around the lake behind our apartments.
There is a nice path to follow and this pier to walk out and rest on.

Kaitlyn loved to point out the geese in the water.

Next we headed over to the park. Kaitlyn is such a big girl now!
She will turn 2 next Sunday and
already loves going down the biggest slides.
Below are some of my favorite pics of her at the park.

A Virtual Tea Party

My oldest sister, Megan, is expecting a baby this month.
Since she lives in San Diego,
we didn't get to attend her baby shower.
Some good friends threw her a
tea-party themed baby shower today,
so my sister, mother, our friend Nancy, and I
went to the baby shower virtually. My mother set up an elaborate tea party in the computer room
so that we could appear via webcam and skype. She set up this beautiful table and
followed the menu at the real party perfectly.
We were sad we couldn't be there in person,
but it was fun to participate from here.
I can't wait to see my new niece or nephew this Christmas!
