Newborn Photo Shoot

Walter had newborn photos taken a week after his birth.
He was pretty crabby at the studio shoot, but she still
managed to get some cute ones!

Here is the link to see the entire newborn photo shoot.

Heading Home

We had a few things to get done this morning
before we could take Walt home.
First he got circumsized, after which all he wanted to do was sleep.

Then we got to dress him in real clothes for the first time

and get his picture taken for the hospital website.
We had to wait 2 hours after his
circumcision before we could go home.
So after one more lunch of surprisingly
delicious hospital food and a few checks
on Walter by the nurse, we were finally
ready to strap him into his carseat
for the first time and head out.
Adam did the honors.
He looked so tiny in there!

Visitors

In the morning Walter was greeted first by his daddy and then by many visitors!
First to arrive was great Grandpa & Grandma Graff.
Walter & his great aunt Cindy

The Hoefs check him out.

His cousin Lexi was happy to hold him.

While Jaccob was just happy Walter was a boy!

Flowers arrived from some wonderful friends and a balloon and teddy bear from Grandpa Woody and Grandma Marilyn.

My cousin Tracey and her 3 kids Elijah, Kallie & Kendrick stopped by with some new clothes for Walter.

Grandpa Gale came by just in time to help Adam with his first major blowout diaper.
It was a busy day, but Walter happily slept through most of it :)

Our Baby

Our lives changed forever today with the birth of our precious son.
Walter was born at 11:22 p.m. on September 22, 2009.
Walter meets his mommy.
He's so fresh out - he's still a little blue!
The whole process was amazingly pain free.
I'm a huge fan of epidurals :)
Below my doctor checks him over and then I did.
I saw right away that he has his grandpa Woody's lips
and didn't get my short thumbs!
Then they took him down to the nursery
to get weighed and measured.
He weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz. and was 20 inches long.
We also got his footprints for the baby book.
But it wasn't long until he was back cuddling with me.
His first visitors that night were
Grandpa Gale,
Grandma Becky,
and Auntie Brooke.
