Walter & Ruby

When we brought Ruby home last Sunday,
her big brother Walter was waiting.

He wanted to inspect her,

and touch her sweet face,

and her little feet.

It didn't take long for him to decide he liked her.

 The next morning, he was right back at it.
Checking on her while she slept,

Watching over her in her car seat,

and entertaining her.

We've been lucky not to see too much jealousy.

He doesn't cry or demand to be held 

when one of us is holding Ruby.

He hasn't put up a big fuss about her always being around.

He does take issue when we borrow one of his blankets 

to wrap her in,

but all in all, he's done really well.

He gets concerned when she's crying and tries to be helpful.

However, he has NOT learned how to be gentle.

He always wants to touch her,

and poke at her face.

We've learned to be quick on our feet to grab Walter,

before he grabs Ruby.

 There's never a dull moment!
